Holman Ranch Winery

Today in California winemaking, cooler climates are producing some of the most unique wines throughout the Central Coast.
Due to climate change, higher elevation wineries like Holman Ranch are in the right place at the right time, producing estate wine and olive oil with sustainable and low-intervention land practices.
But historically, its pristine 700 acres were known more as a wedding venue or a hideaway during Hollywood’s Golden Age, so 1504 was commissioned to cast a new narrative vision and mission that integrated its legacy of hospitality with its future as a destination boutique winery.

Holman Ranch is a boutique winery with vineyards that produce Burgundian-styled pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot gris, and rosé within a state-of-the-art wine cave that hosts for unique tasting experiences and a venue for seated dinners.

Remembering a time when California wines weren’t taken as seriously, Holman Ranch is a champion for all West Coast wines, especially those in the Central Coast which are too often overlooked.

In 2020, the Holman Ranch Tasting Room opened in historic Carmel Valley Village, offering personalized tasting experiences and retail bottles.

Respecting the past without glorifying it, this place offers a rare sweeping view: indigenous tribes, Spanish missionaries, cattle farmers, Hollywood stars, and winemakers. A pastoral walk of fame, Holman Ranch is a testament to California’s icons.
In conversation
Holman Ranch is a storied place that speaks to our soul because it embodies relationships: Our relationship with the land, with wildlife, with architecture, with the artists and ranchers who came before, and with our family and friends who continue to be here today.
